About Super Slow Way

Super Slow Way is a long-term cultural initiative working across East Lancashire. Through partnerships with residents, artists, designers, growers and local organizations, the project aims to transform former industrial landscapes into vibrant green, creative and healthy community spaces.

Running along the Leeds & Liverpool Canal, these areas hold a rich industrial heritage. Once powered by the cotton industry, many of the canal-side locations now exist as overlooked green spaces filled with biodiversity, local history and opportunities for creative exploration.

The residency program encourages artists to engage with these landscapes while working closely with communities to develop meaningful artistic responses.
