Applications are now open for the prestigious TaDA Residency 2027 (Textile and Design Alliance) in Switzerland. This fully funded international artist residency provides creative professionals from around the world with an opportunity to live and work in Arbon, Switzerland while collaborating with textile companies, researchers, designers, and cultural institutions. The residency supports experimental projects that connect art, design, technology, sustainability, and textile innovation. FIFA World Cup 2026 International Poster Awards – Global Open Call for Artists

Artists, illustrators, designers, photographers, architects and creative practitioners from around the world are invited to participate in the COMMON GROUND: FIFA World Cup 2026 International Poster Awards, an international poster competition inspired by the unifying spirit of football. Organized by the Laboratory of Visual Art Commune (LaVA’com), this open call explores how football connects people across cultures, communities and borders through visual expression.


About the Theme: COMMON GROUND

Football is more than a sport, it is a shared visual and cultural language. The theme “COMMON GROUND” encourages artists to interpret football as a space of connection, imagination, identity, diversity and collective experience. Participants are invited to create original poster artworks that reflect the power of football to bring people together.

Who Can Apply?

This international open call is open to:

•Printmakers
•Cultural Practitioners

•Creative Collectives
•Visual Artists from all disciplines

Artists from any country are welcome to apply.



Accepted Mediums

Participants may submit one original artwork in any of the following mediums:

•Drawing
•Painting
•Illustration
•Photography
•Printmaking
•Digital Art
•Mixed Media
•Textile Works
•Collage
•Experimental Visual Practices
•Lenticular Prints

Both traditional and contemporary approaches are welcome. 



Artwork Specifications

•Overall Size: 55 cm × 75 cm

•Artwork Area: 53 cm × 73 cm

•Bleed Area: 1 cm on each side

•Orientation: Portrait or Landscape

•All submissions must be original works created by the participant.

Digital works must be printed using archival-quality, museum-grade printing standards before submission.




Important Submission Rules

•Only one artwork per participant is allowed.

•Submission of the online form alone does not confirm participation.

•Participation is confirmed only after the physical artwork is received by the organizers.

•Physical artworks must reach the organizers before the deadline.

•Shipping, insurance and transportation costs are the responsibility of the participant.



Awards & Cash Prizes

The competition offers a total prize pool of ₹18.5 Lakhs . (Approx 21,600 $)

Jury Awards

🥇 First Prize – ₹10,00,000 ( Approx 11,700 $)

🥈 Second Prize – ₹5,00,000 (Approx 5,850 $)

🥉 Third Prize – ₹2,50,000 ( Approx 2,925 $ )


🏅 Honourable Mention – ₹1,00,000 (Approx 1,170 $)

An international jury from the fields of art, design, architecture, journalism and culture will evaluate the submissions.



Exhibition Opportunity

Apart from the award-winning entries, 101 selected artworks will be exhibited as part of the COMMON GROUND 2026 exhibition.

Selected works will:

•Be professionally exhibited

•Appear in the official exhibition catalogue

•Gain international exposure

•Be viewed alongside works by invited artists, designers, illustrators and architects

The exhibition is scheduled to open in September 2026.
