Artists working in traditional printmaking now have an exciting opportunity to showcase their work on an international platform. Bengaluru Print Exchange International (BPEI) 2026 has officially opened submissions, inviting printmakers from around the world to participate in its annual print exchange project.
Organized by Lavaru Arts Centre, this non-profit initiative brings together artists from different countries through the shared language of printmaking, creating an international network of creative exchange, collaboration, and artistic dialogue.

No Participation Fee
One of the most attractive aspects of BPEI 2026 is that participation is completely free.
There are no registration or application charges for artists wishing to take part in the exchange.
Printmaking Techniques Accepted
The program focuses exclusively on traditional printmaking methods.
Accepted approaches include:
•Woodcut
•Etching
•Mezzotint
•Screen Printing
•Intaglio
•Other hand-pulled printmaking processes
NOTE : Digital artwork and photographic prints are not eligible for submission.
Open Call for Printmakers Worldwide
The program welcomes printmakers from all regions and backgrounds who are actively working in traditional printmaking techniques.
Selected participants will become part of an international exchange where artworks are shared, exhibited, archived, and circulated among fellow printmakers.

Artwork Requirements
Selected artists must prepare an edition of twenty prints from the same image.
Key requirements include:
•Minimum paper weight of 150 GSM archival-quality paper
•A4 paper size (21 x 29.7 cm)
•Printed image area should not be smaller than 10 x 10 cm
•All prints should be consistent in quality and presentation
•Each print should clearly mention:
•Artwork title
•Edition number
•Printmaking technique
•Artist signature
•Edition numbering should follow the standard sequence:
1/20, 2/20, 3/20 and so on up to 20/20.
What Happens After Selection?
Once selected, artists will submit an edition of twenty prints.
The works become part of an international exchange system where:
•Prints are exhibited
•Works are archived
•Artists receive prints from fellow participants
•Selected works contribute to a growing international printmaking collection
•Participants will receive a collection of exchanged prints, allowing them to build a unique archive featuring artists from different countries
Exhibition and Archive
A portion of the submitted works will remain within the organization's permanent archive.
This archive serves as a record of contemporary printmaking practices and helps preserve artistic contributions from participating artists across the world.
The project also plans exhibitions and promotional activities showcasing selected works.

•Submitted works must meet all technical specifications.
•Incomplete submissions may not be considered.
•Artists are responsible for ensuring artwork quality.
•The organization reserves the right to archive and display submitted works for educational, exhibition, and promotional purposes.
